Ralph Breaks the Internet is a Sheer Delight for All Ages
“Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the internet!”
~ Vanellope von Schweetz, “Ralph Breaks the Internet”
Who would have imagined 20 years ago that we would have an animated features about the internet (The Emoji Movie) entertaining and teaching life lessons along the way about insecurity of one’s self, acceptance of one’s self and others. At the end of the day ‘friends don’t hold friends back from dreams.” We also get some life lessons from all the Disney Princesses (voiced by all the original actresses) about being enslaved, poisoned, cursed and having all our problems solved because a big, strong man showed up. Baby, that Princess scene is EVERYTHING and when Cinderella uses that glass slipper as a shank I thought I would die from laughter.
From the same team that brought us Zootopia, Disney even makes fun of websites like combining some for crazy names. ie, BuzzTube or DesmondsTutu.com. There’s even a little adoption parenting tip thrown in for measure. Sarah Silverman has the perfect voice for animation. Kudos to Disney for giving Vanellope an attainable waist and for our first Jewish-American princess. Taraji P. Henson as Yesss! is giving us fashion, confidence and humanity. Especially in a scene with her and Ralph in the comments section of BuzzTube. It will warm your heart…literally!
Ralph Breaks The Internet is fun, entertaining and has no bounds to what is imagined when the internet becomes a playground for the world of animation. Adults and kids alike will have a great time and it’s just in time for the holiday season when it hits theatres on November 21st.
