The Voice of an Generation: R.I.P Whitney Houston

whitney-houston-memorial

When I was a publicist in New York I had the pleasure of meeting Whitney when she popped in to sing with her friends and my clients BeBe and CeCe Winans.  She was a sweet, joyful, gracious human being.  I was honored to have had the opportunity to meet her and see her sing live at the Westbury Music Fair in New York.

It was a full circle moment for me.  Imagine meeting your idol!!!  Like so many other young singers, Whitney Houston was my idol and it was well-known that if you could blow on a Whitney tune…you could sang:)

I would sing two Whitney Houston songs for my auditions all the time…ONE MOMENT IN TIME and ALL AT ONCE.  I would always book the gig:)

All At Once in One Moment In Time we lost one of the greatest vocalists of all time.

Whitney Houston  loved music and loved sharing her gift with the world.  I, for one, am grateful to have lived to witness her brilliance and be content with the fact that her glorious voice will live on forever.

My sincere prayers and thoughts go out to her Mom…Cissy Houston, her daughter…Bobbi Kristina, her ex…Bobby Brown and the man responsible for introducing her to the world Mr. Clive Davis.

I love, love love movies, watching them and discussing them...thus the birth of The Curvy Film Critic!!!
