Oscar Predictions: Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor

ImageAIDS or full blown HIV is a lot more manageable and acceptable in this day and age than in the late 1980’s when the world was shocked to learn  beloved movie star hunk Rock Hudson had this horribly debilitating disease.  It is this point in history that we are introduced to the real life character of Ron Woodruff in the hit film “Dallas Buyers Club”.  Matthew McConaughy and Jared Leto give such compelling, heartfelt performances that nearly every award this season has been thrown their way.  For these reasons, I predict they will yet again doubly sweep at the Oscars.

That is NOT to say that their counterparts in each category were schlubs.  Bruce Dern, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Michael Fassbender, Barkhad Abdi, Jonah Hill and Bradley Cooper ALL brought it with the gusto that has made 2013 one of the most competitive races in the last 20 years of Oscar.

Tune into the 86th Annual Academy Awards on ABC-TV, Sunday March 2nd…
