Karyn Parsons and SweetBlackBerry.org

photo-littleYou may know Karyn Parson as Will Smith’s sister Hillary on the hit NBC sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air“.  What you don’t know is that Karyn has founded SweetBlackberry.org, which is dedicated to bringing African-American history alive through animated shorts narrated by Alfre Woodard, Queen Latifah and Chris Rock.

Impressed at a young age from stories shared by her librarian Mom regarding Henry “Box” Brown ( a slave who shipped himself to freedom), she has noticed the increasingly absent history of African-Americans in our society.  Through SweetBlackberry.org, Karyn is taking the torch from her Mom and making sure that our history stays vibrant for many generations to come.

Her Kickstarter campaign for her next story on ballerina Janet Collins is 53% funded and ends on July 19th.  Please donate or share to the masses!!!!  Educate yourself and your little ones.
