HELP Spotlight Make Dreams Come True!!!
On April 8, 2017, I watched 15 high school students excitedly await their turn to audition for a panel of world-class performers at The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Feeling the nerves; hearing the repetition of lines; and frequent words of encouragement like “break a leg” couldn’t help but make me proud of how far they’ve come – proud to celebrate this moment with them and proud to celebrate their journey through The Music Center’s Spotlight program.
Since 1988, Spotlight, The Music Center’s hallmark arts training and scholarship program, has changed the lives of more than 45,000 high school students in Southern California. Offered at no cost, the program provides personalized guidance, master classes, college and career workshops, scholarships and the chance to audition for the Spotlight Grand Finale Performance at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall. It truly connects students with a supportive community that provides pathways to personal, professional and artistic growth at every skill level.
Spotlight helps turn big dreams into brighter futures.
