Climate Change, Soil and Sustainability Help Humans Kiss The Ground

For the third year in a row since living in Los Angeles, the temperature in October is 106 degrees or hotter.  It’s unprecedented and signaling that a clear and present danger is lurking by the name of climate change.  This seismic shift in our earth’s temperature is already affecting our air quality, vegetation and soil in which we plant and grow our food.  More and more Americans are leaning toward sustainable methods of living and eating as who knows what the future holds.

What does all that mean?  The MUSE school (run by Rebecca and Suzy Amis) taught me that when you use the earth to regenerate food, clothing and so much more – those efforts aid in saving our planet and resources so that it can all stretch out and last just a little bit longer.

Narrated by Woody Harrelson and featuring Jason Mraz, Ian Somerhalder, Gisele Bündchen, Patrcia Arquette, and David Arquette., KISS THE GROUND is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis by regenerating the world’s soils.  In doing so,  we can rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems and create abundant food supplies.

Using compelling graphics and visuals, along with striking NASA and NOAA footage, this massively informative doc artfully illustrates how drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle. Did you know we are 1% human and that 99% of those particles are carbon AND that  humans feed off of bacteria processed by food?  I know…I didn’t either and it has truly prompted me to  desire the shift into eating a plant based diet.  But…let me just also say all things in good time. LOLOLOL.

My mind was officially blown.  Yet, I was ashamed that I wasn’t more cognizant of how the earth and they human body are intertwined and coexist within each other.  It’s a lesson that I hope and pray everyone learns when they watch this documentary.

Expertly directed by Joshua Tickell and based on his book by the same name, KISS THE GROUND is a global documentary wake-up call to every living, breathing human being that rapid erosion is when soil becomes dirt.  At the end of the day, what we learn is how the food we eat can reverse climate change, heal our bodies and  ultimately save our world.  It is the very impetus scientifically proven that if we don’t shift what breathes life into our bodies, we will undoubtedly perish the earth.
