Where My Black Irish At? Happy St. Paddy’s Day

Yup!  That’s right.  I’m Black Irish!  My Grandmother was a ‘Gregory’!!!  So, in addition to sniffing some Corn beef Cabbage (I don’t eat beef), grabbing a green donut or some beer…I may set down and grab a look at some of my favorite Irish flicks.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day and I hope you have a safe and enjoyable one.  Here’s some of those flicks I was talking about…

BROOKLYN

Starring Saorsie Ronan, Brooklyn is a coming of age story about a young Irish girl who has to choose which she loves more…her country or the love of her life.

THE QUIET MAN

Starring John Wayne and Maureen O’ Hara – The Quiet Man is a 1952 Technicolor American romantic comedy-drama film directed by John Ford.

 

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER

In the Name of the Father is a 1993 Irish-British-American biographical courtroom drama film co-written and directed by Jim Sheridan. It is based on the true story of the Guildford Four, four people falsely convicted of the 1974 Guildford pub bombings, which killed four off-duty British soldiers and a civilian

 

 

SING STREET

From the now defunct and troubled Weinstein company, Sing Street is a 2016 musical coming-of-age comedy-drama film with a  story which  revolves around a boy starting a band to impress a girl in 1980s Ireland.
