It’s no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Halle Berry and that I have seen every movies she has ever done…including The Flinstones…lol
But, back in the day, Hollywood paired Berry up with Oscar-winning actress and American Horror Story star Jessica Lange. I remember seeing an interview where Berry expressed that due to the subject matter of the film and Lange’s acting preparation….there did not end up as besties. However, both women turned in performances that were absolutely stellar earning Halle Berry an NAACP Image Award nomination.
This film also reunited Berry with her Jungle Fever Co-Star…Samuel L. Jackson and dealt with a subject that is still relevant today…adoption of black children by white parents. Only nowadays, the issue seems to be adoption by those in the LGBT community.
The little boy who played Isiah, Marc John Jeffries, has made an indelible mark as an adult actor in such projects as HBO’s Treme, Showtime’s Dexter, Spiderman 2, Monsters, Inc. and no less than 6 films scheduled to roll out between now and 2016 including the Queen Latifah produced Brotherly Love.
