Skywalkers: A Love Story is Breathtakingly Awesome

In 2005, I played Killer Queen in “We Will Rock You” at the Paris Las Vegas.  One of my numbers required me to sing nearly thirty feet in the air on a narrow, lacquered platform that slowly spun in a circle.  But wait there’s more. All of this done in four inch boots and a full length leather jacket with a train.  Was I petrified?  Absolutely, but I focused on the person at the other end of the platform singing to avoid focusing on falling or the results thereof as neither one of us were harnessed. So, I kinda understand Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus and their daredevil spirit.

To save their career and relationship, these two adrenaline junkies criss cross the globe climbing  the world’s last super skyscraper performing a bold acrobatic stunt on the spire. But just how far would they go for a sponsorship deal or one more like on Instagram?  The answer is these two go all in…always.

Coming from a circus background, Nikolau, is known in her circles as the First Lady of Rooftopping, while Beerkus was considered by millions worldwide as “rooftopping royalty.”  They met their match in each other as a skyscraping version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

When I tell you this up close and personal look had me stressed out, holding my breath and biting down on my gel nails as filmmaker Jeff Zimbalist took the audience nearly 2,230 feet up in the sky crafting a real-life heist film with actual life-or-death stakes.  While following the duo on every dangerous and highly illegal step of the way on their mission for one more climb. Oh yeah, Zimbalist  was right up there for a minute with them too.

It was fascinating to witness the skill and precision it takes to carefully stalk targets, evade security while risking freedom and their lives for one more adventure.  These Russian rooftoppers bring the viewer along for a wild and breathtaking ride capturing this strong-willed couple as they meet, develop trust in the most exhilarating of circumstances, all while falling in love in the process.

Watching them fuss and fight while towering over cities with no net proved that even the most extraordinary couple has ordinary relationship issues to overcome. Yet, in their most vulnerable, insecure moments they continues to persevere despite the odds against them

“Skywalkers: A Love Story” is a riveting, edge-of-your-seat experience about reaching our full potential on the other side of fear knowing one will never be the same.
