Extraction 2 is Pure High Octane Adrenaline Shot With Chris Hemsworth

One thing Joe Russo does extremely well is craft a high-speed thrilling action adventure leaving one all up in their feelings.  Written by Russo and directed by  Sam Hargrave (a former MCU stunt coordinator), Extraction reached blockbuster status for its title and star.  But, three years later does the sequel live up to the hype?  Absolutely!!!

After being presumed dead, mercenary Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) returns set out on a mission to save his former sister-in-law, nephew and niece from the clutches of her diabolical blood thirsty gangster husband. Chris Hemsworth expressed his sentiments about revisiting Tyler, “It’s tricky to carry on with a character and not explain his past. So much of the first film was about Rake and the young boy he was rescuing. We touched a little bit on his backstory. This film gave us an opportunity to really dig into that, find out why he is the way he is, why he partakes in this line of work and what’s behind the pain and the brokenness in this individual. ”

Hemsworth is simply fantastic and the stunts are insane, especially in one scene that is literally a 12 minute continuous shot.  Yup, that happens and it is everything!  Aside from Hemsworth, the entire cast is stellar.  Particularly, Andro Japaridze as Hemsworth’s nephew Sandro.  When I tell you he was so convincing I wanted to reach into the screen and snatch him every which way but loose…I do not exaggerate !!!!  It really is just a testament to his talent as a young, gifted actor on the rise.

In Tyler’s world, one has to learn to navigate based on judgment and not emotion.  Emotion in his line of work will not only get you killed. but those you love.  What I know for sure is that all audiences will love Extraction 2, Tyler and the whole journey as it unfolds right now as it streams on Netflix!
