Cate Blanchett is Hella Fantabulous in Marvel Studios’ THOR: RAGNAROK

Chris Hemsworth in all his glory and kitchiness is back as Thor and it is a riotous roller-coaster ride from start to finish.  Complete with lines like “safe passage through the anus”, holograms and a spectacular fight sequence with Thor and The Hulk reckoning back to a little Mad Max Thunderdome action, I couldn’t help but giggle my way into complete enjoyment of this latest Thor installment.  Clearly others agree, as it is the best reviewed Marvel movie of all time!!!!

I loved this film!  It took me right back to the Buck Rogers days!  Thor essentially lands in the island of misfit toys and where everyone is completely unaware of their hilarity!!!!  What was particularly joyful for me, was the fact that the cast was multicultural and  it boasted female characters as hella-strong leaders (no pun intended), as opposed to beautiful eye-candy.  Although, this tickled me beyond belief I was a little annoyed that they had Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) drinking a 40-ounce.  Really?  Why can’t Hela drink a 40-ounce?

Anywhoo, Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster was pure comedy and fully owns every moment on-screen. As much as I loved  seeing my yummy Idris Elba — those gold contacts creeped me out a little bit.  Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) are the sci-fi-fi Abbott and Costello which is perfect blend of comedic action for this beloved franchise.  Those Hemsworth abs are worth the price of admission alone:)

However, it was Cate Blanchett who give me complete and utter life as Thor’s outcast sister Hela. She is deliciously nasty with powerful sexiness that was exhilarating to behold!!!!

As a Thor enthusiasts I thought you guys might enjoy some fun facts…

  •   Oscar®-winning production designer Dan Hennah (“Lord of the Rings,” “The Hobbit” trilogies) and production designer Ra Vincent (“What We Do in the Shadows”) designed over two-dozen sets (both stage and exterior builds) for the 17-week shoot.
  •   Veteran costume designer Mayes Rubeo (“Avatar,” “Warcraft,” “The Great Wall”) made over 2,500 original costumes for the film (depicting both the worlds of Asgard and Sakaar), with all materials sourced in Australia.
  • Cate Blanchett’s, Hela, one of Thor’s most formidable enemies from the comics, is the first leading female villain in any of the Marvel Studios’ feature films to date.
  • Director Taika Waititi not only directs, but also plays a new CGI character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe named Korg (introduced by Marvel in a 1962 comic book). Waititi is well-known for not only directing, but acting in his own films.
