All Governments Lie

I don’t know about you, but man am I ready for this Presidential election to be done! All the name calling, 4-year old behavior and flipping of facts has been just a little more than I can bear. I am completely stressed out!!!

Thankfully, on November 8th, we will either be celebrating the victory of having America’s First Female President or putting our lives and the future of our country in the hands of someone who has no respect for any human being that is not white, rich and republican.

With all of that in mind, I strongly encourage you to check All Governments Lie. This thought-provoking doc tickled me by opening with the all time classic lie of then President Richard Nixon declaring “I’m not a crook” to CBS Television President being grateful for Republican Presidential Nominee bringing “the circus to town” speaking about 911, Muslims, Mexicans, women and building a wall.

It’s all based on the ideology of columnist and “original political blogger” I.F. Stone, who believed “you can’t fulfill your function unless you’re free”. Some of his early subscribers included Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein and documentary filmmaker Micheal Moore.

We discover that in Death Valley, CA there are literally thousands of undocumented immigrants attempting to cross the border who are never seen or heard from again…20,000 to be exact.

News is shared on how FOX News supported the now known untruth of “overwhelming evidence to support weapons of mass destruction”. How Democracy Now, who gained traction in 2003 reporting on the Iraqi invasion, is funded from viewers and grants from the foundation itself. It literally rejects donations from advertisers and corporate entities.

We become hip to an online investigative journalism site called The Intercept. Launched in 2014 by Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill and Laura Poitros, The Intercept is the media outlet that broke the story on US Drones. Poitros won an Oscar for Citizen Four about how Snowden leaked NSA documentation creating what some still feel placed America at a high security risk.
