Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne are Besties Bosses in Like A Boss

In the wake of our state of affairs politically and the fact that there have been a flurry of films with dramatic content, I was in serious need of some giggles. Thank goodness for Like A Boss.

Produced by the biggest, baddest comedy boss out there – Tiffany Haddish (Mia) and Rose Byrne (Mel) are besties who built a struggling cosmetic empire needing a substantial monetary bailout.  Enter Claire Luna (Salma Hayek) with a deal that sounds too good to be true. Needless to say, the deal is not without its hiccups, but at the end of the day Mia and Mel prevail.

Jennifer Coolidge and Billy Porter are the perfect sidekicks. Baby, there is a scene where Porter makes a five minute exit that had me rolling and dying in my seat.  Salma Hayek is the perfect villainous billionaire boss complimenting the shenanigans of Haddish and Byrne.  Of course, let’s not forget Mia and Mel’s girl squad including a hilarious Natasha Rothwell (HBO’S Insecure), who also has a scene that will have audience’s howling with laughter.

Let be real.  Those who love Tiffany Haddish, will support this sista’ no matter what.  Those wishing to drag her will do that too.  As for me, Like A Boss is fluffy, foul language fun and will leave you a little lighter than you might be entering the theatre with your cocktails and snacks. Not to mention the fact that it places a glaring spotlight on all the different sides, shades and struggles of female friendship, especially in business.  It kinda reminds of of Troy Byer’s BAPS which starred Halle Berry and Natalie Deselle, which is now a cult classic

Women are complicated at best, but at the end of the day we support our ride and die’s no matter what.  Produced by Paramount Pictures, Like A Boss hits theaters on January 10th.
