#TBT Sideways
Some years back when I was celebrating a milestone birthday, I decided to take some of my dearest tried and true girlfriends to Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez Valley for a little wine tasting tour. Needlesss to say it was adventure I shall not soon forget. Picture this…a hummer limo with about 15 black women wine tasting at 5 locations…enough said…LOL
The locations we visited were all the wineries featured in the film Sideways. My God sister and I even tried to watch the film before the trip…lol
So what was all the rage about Sideways? Oscar winer Alexander Payne wrote it and was married to Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh at the time. What was it about? Two men (Thomas Haden Church and Paul Giamatti) reaching middle age with not much to show but disappointment, embark on a week long road trip through California’s wine country, just as one is about to take a trip down the aisle.
