Review: Think Like A Man Too
This was a great weekend for Steve Harvey and Kevin Hart!!! Third top film for Hart this year with Grudge Match and about Last Night under his belt. In addition to two volumes of the popular Think Like A Man books, Harvey not only walked away with two Emmys (Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Game Show Host), but the #1 spot at the box office with his Think Like A Man sequel…Think Like A Man Too.
I personally liked the first film better as it was truer to the premise of women following the advice of the Think Like A Man book to land a mate. The first half of this film basically served as an 60-minute ad for Las Vegas Tourism and a follow up of where the characters left off in the first film.
However, the second half gets back to the original premise and let’s just say the highlight of the film is the spoof of the Bell Biv Devoe 90’s megahit “Poison” with the girls, a little prison scene with Kevin Hart as BamBam and various scenes at Caesar’s Palace by the pool and in the suites. As usual, Jenifer Lewis steals EVERY scene she is in. As much as we love her being that black mama we all love to hate, she has a vulnerable side that makes you fall in love with her all over again.
I laughed so hard at one point, My Mom broke out some tissue to wipe the tears streaming down my face.
I am particularly proud that this is the second film with an all-black cast in the last six months that has opened #1 at the box office letting Hollywood know that these films do AND can make money and entertain the masses…not just US.
