RUSH is High Octane in Performance and Quality Around the Racing World

The world of race car driving is not a world I am familiar with.  Not due to lack of interest, but rather due to the feeling in the pit of my stomach watching a car spin out or catch on fire.  Yet, I am fascinating with that world and have often fascinated about what it would feel like to have a woman in this space. Having been a darling of the film festival circuit, RUSH left me with exactly that — a rush from beginning to end.

In the mid-1970s, charismatic English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) share an intense rivalry in Formula One racing. Driving vehicles that are little more than gas-filled, rolling bombs, Hunt and Lauda burn up the track, all the while pushing themselves to the breaking point of physical and mental endurance. Meanwhile, the women (Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara) in their lives can only watch as both drivers risk death with every lap.

Following the true life rivalry, lives and competition of Formula One racing driving legends, the audience is taken on the ride of a lifetime!!!  Hemsworth (Hunt) and Bruhl (Lauda) give the performances of their careers and keeps us engaged for the entire film.  Directed by the legendary Ron Howard, every race scene is spectacularly captured and dramatized thanks to the breathtaking  cinematography from Anthony Dod Mantle and enhanced by orchestration that could only be created by Hans Zimmer!!  My appreciation for what these men and women do for a living has been raised to infinity.  RUSH is produced by Universal Pictures and will literally leave you breathless from the performances, the non-stop action and the spotlight on two men at the top of their game in a sport that is often times overlooked, but never counted down and out.
