Ok…this film I actually did see and it single-handedly stopped me from EVER seeing another horror film in life. I didn’t sleep for weeks because I kept picturing that hand coming out of the grave at the end of the movie. I even have a hard time going to cemetery for ANY reason for fear history will repeat itself. OK…I know in my head it’s only a movie, but tell that to the shadows I see at night when I can’t seen to fall asleep…lol.
On the positive side, it was the first time I had ever seen Oscar winner Sissy Spacek in a film and have been a fan of hers ever since…can you say Coal Miner’s Daughter?
Carrie White (Sissy Spacek) is a shy, introverted teenager who has been sheltered by a domineering fanatical Christian mother (Piper Laurie) whose telekinesis powers rage out of control after being humiliated at the senior prom. Both Laurie and Spacek were nominated for Academy Awards and Carrie was revived in 2013, has been a television movie and made into a musical on Broadway (which is currently onstage in Southern California at the La Mirada Theatre through November 22nd.
