Review: GRUDGE MATCH

MV5BMTY3NTkxMTgzNV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNjg0MzE2MDE@._V1._SX94_SY140_Earlier this year, I saw an interview on “The View” with Sylvester Stallone, Adam Arkin, Robert DeNiro and Kevin Hart promoting their film “Grudge Match” which was ridiculously entertaining.  It peaked my interest and I really wanted to check it out, however, time got away from me until now.

“Grudge Match” picks up after two ex-fighters have now reached their prime as senior citizens and are roped into a re-match by their former promoter’s son.  If you have ever seen “Raging Bull” or “Rocky”, one can see the storyline similarities to these classic films with a respectful, comedic twist.

One of the most hysterical recurring moments are when these two fighters continuously place themselves in embarrassing public situations that are recorded with cell phones and placed on the internet only to go viral.  Adam Arkin and Kevin Hart made me laugh out loud.  Their comedic sensibility is razor sharp and well worth watching the film alone.

Stallone and DeNiro have held up tremendously well over the years with their boxing skills for men over 60.  They made me feel really lazy and like I needed to run to the gym, do some push ups or something…LOL.

“Grudge Match” is available on Vudu.com now and good for a chuckle or two…
